A wonderful image from the Pasadena Chalk Festival. Hard to believe the canvas is a cement sidewalk. (If the artist of this amazing work happens by, please drop me a line! Would love to have your name up in lights on this post.)
Sigh. For me, in my heart? It captures a certain espirit d'Wilfair, or at least what I hope to convey.

Chalk Kiss
A Challenge
I've set a few challenges for myself with these books. One is this: How romantic and stomach-churning and heat-filled can I make the stories without employing the usual moments we expect to see? I'm not attempting rewrite rules; I'm not nearly that audacious and I do adore a good traditional romcom.
But that's one enjoyable goal I've set and it's a goal I hope people like: Can a reader feel like two characters are going out long before they've reached the going-out point? Can it seem like, whenever the characters are alone, they've spent that time kissing even if they've just been talking?
