I'm Alive

So I got to talking with new reader Jill -- hi, Jill! -- and I mentioned how ELO is the house band for the Wilfair series.

Period. Forever and ever. Done. I know I've spoken of my ELO affections but I must again.

Electric Light Orchestra is the song-happiest, orchestra-biggest, string-sweetest, cosmos-space-iest, '70s-snazziest band ever, and the musicians all rocked beards and huge hair and wore vests and bell-bottom cords and LOVE.

Here's further proof of why I've made ELO the house band. Seen "Xanadu"? Remember the scene where the muses spring to life out of the LA beach mural? That ELO song -- "I'm Alive" -- and that moment capture l'esprit de Wilfair for me.

Honest, when I turn Wilfair into a splashy, over-the-top musical one day, I'm outlining all of the characters in pink neon and sticking them in roller skates.
