I've been making a few hope-filled wishes on my readers' behalf, as we head into the new year.
I'm sending you thoughts of health and happiness and friendship and all good things. If you want something special, I want you to get it. If you want to drop something that isn't helping you or enhancing your life, please do.
The future is a mystery -- a wonderful fact -- but I do know something: "Fairwil" is due in the spring! So I can accurately predict you'll have a free advance copy this May. Hooray! I won't believe it. April 9, by the by, is the fifth anniversary of when I wrote "A hotel without a pool isn't cool," the opening sentence of "Wilfair." Four books, five years, and so many ridick, completely rad people I've met through this world.
Loved. This. Time. Tremendously.
Here are my resolutions for 2014: Drink more water. Get overseas. See my friends and family all the dang time. Keep working hard. Meet a few more readers on the corner of Wilshire & Fairfax. Have a good time, all the time. (Thank you, "This Is Spinal Tap.")
If you send me your wish, I'll keep it in my heart. Maybe I'll even swing by Wilshire & Fairfax, breathe on a window at Johnie's Coffee Shop, and write your hope in the fog.
You know it is a magical corner, right? Just say the word.
