Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue is a magical intersection. I've said it before -- you can feel something humming there, be it the city, the tar pits, the art, the people.
That's why I chose it as the setting for the Wilfair world.
The LA intersection will be the home to the future Academy Museum, a giant movie museum from the people behind the Oscars. There's a costume show in the building now, ahead of the museum's eventual opening, and the big attraction?
Dorothy's ruby slippers, from "The Wizard of Oz."
I believe there are only three pairs in the world, and one pair is in the Smithsonian. And one pair is at Wilshire and Fairfax.
Magical.
When I see this corner, which is dear to my heart, mentioned on Facebook in connection with whimsy and story and sparkle, I get glad. Hope it makes you glad, too.
