Rock Paper Scissors makes a cameo in the upcoming book. (References to childhood games, like Telephone, are found in all the "Wilfair" stories.)
My husband and I play a version that can only be described as baroque. Call it Rock Paper A Pitcher of Hot Maple Syrup. Or Rock Paper A Swarm of Cranky Ladybugs. Basically the third thing has to be incredibly outlandish and surprisingly good at besting rock, paper, and scissors in some strange and lethal way.
The illustration below charms me. I've kind of always thought this. You, too?
