I've heard the word "Reception" used for the lobby of a hotel on various British television shows.
But I'm curious. Is Reception more for a hotel's lobby or for the front desk check-in area? Any Brits visiting the blog? Canada? I lived in Nova Scotia for a semester but can't recall, though I feel like Reception might be a Canadian term, too. (I didn't visit any hotels during my stay, as I was too busy visiting convenience stores for my daily Coffee Crisp.)
It's a nice word, Reception. Welcoming.
